The starting point

Your first goal is a repeatable run: clear nearby ground, deliver what you collect, and check what earns money. Staying close to the station makes that loop easier to understand before you commit to a vehicle or a long conveyor.

Your first session

Three jobs before you expand.

A planning checklist for this page. Refreshing clears it; it does not track your game save.

The developer describes the opening as collecting lunar dust, delivering it to a depot, launching shipments, and reinvesting in tools and carrying capacity. An automated belt delivery has its own payment behavior: patch 1.0.3 says dust and stone arriving at the intake are paid as they come in. S01S02

Run the opening loop

  1. Take the starting Toothbrush and work on dusty ground near the station.
  2. Watch your tool's storage and the local cleaning percentage. They answer different questions: how much material you are carrying, and how much ground remains.
  3. Use the packing action when needed. Guides report Q in the default PC layout. Check your bindings or the on-screen prompt if the key differs. Packing creates a capsule; it does not itself deliver the material.
  4. Bring the collected dust to the station and follow the receiving prompt. Complete the shipment interaction when using the manual shipping loop.
  5. Check the result before buying your next tool: was cleaning slow, did storage fill repeatedly, or did you spend most of the run walking?

The reported Q control and local progress instructions come from the cleaning guide, rather than our own gameplay test. S10

Finish the ground you started

A surface can look clear while a thin strip remains at an edge. Inspect the local percentage and completion message before walking away. For your next job, choose an unfinished section near the area you have already cleaned.

The cleaning guide reports orange for untouched ground, blue for unfinished ground, and green for completed ground on the Moon Map. Treat the current map legend as the authority if an update changes those colors. S10

Do not confuse local completion with cleaning the entire Moon. If a local section has no visible dust but will not complete, patch 1.0.5 addresses incorrectly unfinished sectors; see the progress checks in our troubleshooting guide. S04

Buy for the interruption you notice

Your run is interrupted by… Consider… Check before paying
Narrow, repeated brush passes A wider handheld tool Width and capacity shown in your current menu
A full tool container A capacity upgrade Whether storage is actually the slow part
Long walks to sell dust A nearer delivery point or Packager route Whether the complete route reaches a valid intake
Slow vehicle unloading Garage-side unloading improvements Whether the Garage output is already working
A wish to stop collecting manually A cleaning robot Dock/catcher infrastructure and fresh ground

A Household Broom is reported at $25 in game by the upgrade guide. That is a useful comparison for the starting tool, rather than a requirement to buy every brush in order. The Building Tool is reported at $50 and is needed for the Packager-and-belt setup described in the delivery guide. Check those prices in your build. S12S07

A useful stopping point for the first session

You have a working foundation when you can finish a nearby section, deliver one load successfully, and explain why your next purchase helps. If you are buying a Packager, test one short delivery. If you are starting co-op, agree on the host and privacy setting before spending time on a shared base.
