The starting point

Research checked 5 November 2026. The newest formal patch in the developer announcements retrieved for this guide is 1.0.5, published 28 October. Dates below use UTC; Steam's localized display can show a different date.

1.0.5 — 28 October 2026

Catcher routing: J.O.O.N.A.S. selects the emptiest catcher in the nearest group. Catchers within 100 metres form the described grouping; when every catcher in that group exceeds 80% occupancy, deliveries go to the next group.

Packing and progress: the developer reports fixes for packing in large bases, distant hexes stuck at 99.9%, and dust-free sectors displaying 0%.

Loading: a recurring freeze about half a minute after loading some worlds is fixed on both DX11 and DX12.

Building: the patch adds placement on dusty ground, Move Mode and full refunds on removing pieces. Moving a piece takes what stands on it; attached belts follow where they can reach, so inspect connections after moving a base.

Garage and public crews: silo status explains blocked output; starting or switching to Public asks for confirmation and explains host moderation.

1.0.4 — 25 October 2026

J.O.O.N.A.S.: no more dock trips, continued work without nearby players, improved navigation and capsule launches while moving between sectors. The developer describes cleaning as twice as fast; we have not benchmarked that claim.

Backups: up to five complete backups per save slot, a minute into each session and every 30 minutes, outside Steam Cloud. The game can repair damaged saves while loading.

Compatibility: older Proton startup issues are addressed; Windows defaults to DX11 to avoid AMD crashes. A save made in 1.0.4 cannot open in an older build.

Multiplayer and machines: ground synchronization is reworked, crew members can build belt junctions on others' belts, and “Could not pack a capsule” is addressed.

1.0.3 — 24 October 2026

Crew upgrades: all players use the host's Upgrade Matrix and any member's purchase upgrades the crew.

Host controls: kick, ban and unban controls appear under Your Crew.

Deliveries and vehicles: belt-delivered dust and stone pay as they arrive; teammate-built junctions are fixed; removing a Garage no longer deletes stored vehicles.

Large worlds: heavily cleaned saves that appeared corrupted load again.
